now i know i need an engine between 4-9 which one for the money would you have and wich one to stay away from :hm:

go for a 6 onwards mate. or best would be an 8mr engine

They have better cams and thicker rods but you'll still need cams changing to do 400 bhp but it will be a good reliable engine

No other differences really apart from the thermostat housing and the fact the water flows the other engine but as long as you get it complete then anything that might have changed slightly will be on there.

Throttle postion sensor will be slightly different but you can use your own and maybe the alternator but again you can use your own.

As long as the throttle body is with the inlet mani then I don't see it not being work able.
No big issue while the engine is out to swap the inlet manifolds over with everything on if need be.

Exhaust manifolds are identical throughout the range apart from a IX one which has a little extra metal here and there to prevent cracking
Other that that it's the flange downpipe to turbo that's different but no problem cos just swap the turbo elbow to match the downpipe. Only 5 bolts hold the turbo elbow to the turbo and they are all interchangeable 4-9

There maybe a few minor tweaks here and there but you'll be able to run 360-70 ish on a normal 6/7/8 engine. But hey if you get a failure don't blame me lol. Im just going on what I've heard and read.

I have a 8mr engine with a 6 inlet manifold and to be honest the internals have all been changed anyway.

If you bought a complete block and head from any car then the other stuff is all pretty much interchangeable
