What milage should you change all the oils at, gearbox oil ayc fluid diff oil etc. Should you do it every time you change the engine oil? I have been doing it every time and it's not cheap? What type of services are there like an engine oil change 4500miles I do all the oils but it's what I've been told. Cam belt service 4500miles or 5years which ever comes 1st just found that out. Some one saying something about a spanner check. During an engine oil change do you have to drain the oil cooler?
Basically I need to know what type of services should be done at what miles or time scale? I'm not aware of the different service intervals and what should be changed or checked. Im gona do a cambelt service next week including all the oils and everything after that what's the best way to keep unto date with the services???

According to Mitsubishi it is as follows...

4,500 miles or 6 months (whatever comes first)

  2. Check condition of wiper blades
  3. Check auxilary drive belts for damage & tension
  4. Replenish washer fluid level
  5. Replenish inter-cooler spray system
  6. Check brake lines for leaks
  7. Check rear diff oil level
  8. Replace AYC fluids (Differential & Reservoir)
  9. Replace engine oil (using fully synthetic oil only)
  10. Replace engine oil filter
  11. Check brake pads/discs for wear
  12. Check tyres for damage/wear
  13. Check/reset engine idle speed

9,000 miles or 12 months (whatever comes first)

  1. All items from 4,500 mile service + following...
  2. Check all turbo pipes for damage & security
  3. Check condition of air filter
  4. Check cooling system for leaks. Replenish if necessary
  5. Check brake/clutch fluid levels
  6. Check battery levels. Replenish if necessary
  7. Check front/rear suspension for damage and security
  8. Check steering system for damage and security
  9. Check gearbox oil level
  10. Check transfer box oil level
  11. Check brake/clutch pedals for travel/adjustment
  12. Check/adjust hand brake travel
  13. Swop tyres front to rear (if required)
  14. Check/adjust tyre pressures

18,000 miles or 24 months (whatever comes first)

  1. All items from 4,500 & 9,000 mile services + following...
  2. Replace brake fluid
  3. Replace air filter
  4. Replace coolant. Check system for leaks
  5. Check HT leads
  6. Check driveshafts & gaiters
  7. Replace spark plugs

45,000 miles or 60 months (whatever comes first)

  1. All items from 4,500, 9,000 & 18,000 mile service + following...
  2. Replace timing belt A and timing belt B
  3. Replace fuel filter
  4. Check scondary air system hoses for leaks
  5. Check crankcase control system/pipes
  6. Check fuel pipes for damage/security
  7. Replace gearbox, transfer and rear diff oil

Every Service

  • Carry out full road test to check correct operation of all systems

That's what the service sheets say, but I replace my gearbox, transfer box and rear diff oil at least once every year. This year the gearbox and transfer box oils have been replaced twice in less than 6 months due to having a new clutch fitted then needing to remove the transfer box a few months later.

hehe you could of edited your first post to add the extra information but nevermind, to try and answer your questions starts with one straight back to you,
What do you use your car for? daily driver toooting back and to from work, weekend toy (fast road), track toy or a combination as how you driver will also effect the interval also.

if just driving on the road:
Things like cam belt i'd say 50,000 miles or less if pushing your car,
oil change < 5000miles
plugs once a year along with the gear box oils and AYC
brake fluid at least every 2 years

if doing alot of track work then i'd decrease the time interval depending on what you are doing

A spanner check is just generally a look round the car and make sure everything is tight (wheel nuts, brakelines etc) and again depends on if you've had any work done on it also, as its often worth going over the things that were touched

hope that helps

Ah, I see what you are referring to now.

I only write in bold when I am including another members quote in my reply as it helps them to waft through everything and focus on what little old me has to say! ;)

It is something that I pinched off another member that hardly turns up.

You should try it sometime Lee.
