sounds like a wheel bearing to me.... jack the car up and wiggle the wheel, you will hear it squeak if it is :D

Sounds like your pads need taking out cleaning and regreasing as a wheel bearing is a rumble not a squeel.

lol ;) well a wheel bearing starts as a squeal and then rumbles the worse it gets.

the cheaper option is to clean and re-grease like dave said as it will probably solve it.

I'd say the faster you go the wheel bearing 'howls' louder and louder. It'll end up hurting your ears.

I can vouch for that. I had to drive a Sti Type R back from Southampton with a sha%%ed wheel bearing. I had earphones in my ears (for hands free kit) and the car stereo on and could still hear it!!

To check the wheel bearing as you are going down the road wiggle the steering wheel so car moves left and right if the noise goes you will know its the wheel bearing as when you wiggle the steering wheel it alters the load on the bearing. If there is no change when doing that then gently apply your brakes if the noise goes could be a case of the brakes just need to be stripped and cleaned so you would then have to remove the wheel to take a look

My brother drove his wheel bearing into the ground the bearings were pretty much dust by the time I changed em for him, the noise is unmistakable, rumble with high pitched scream
