Excellent keep looking bud u may find me a turbo and cams!! Russ what sort of power do u think I can acheive??

Honestly, not a clue tbh, it will make what it makes, and I also map other peoples cars to be safe.

The actual figures you see will vary from dyno to dyno, but off the top of my head, so long as there is enough fueling, then over 400 should be on the cards (maf permitting).

doh...lol

I'm really wanting to up the boost more as I feel now that the std rods are not weak as we're led to believe (as you may know from seeing some of my posts on the subjest)......but not getting enough technical feedback off people......my current mindset is that with a good map the std rods will take quite big power and that a rod failure may happen regardless of what power your running (within reason)

but I've haven't got the balls or more importantly the wallet at the mo to try it out :D

I can't place the car tbh (I used to work there and did alot of the mapping for them). How long ago did he have it mapped ?

It's a pure gamble mate, as you know some cars will throw a rod at little to no boost, and others will take big boost all day every day and never miss a beat.

With mine I had everyone telling me it would fail, so I just pushed it more and never had any issue's, only when I decided to go forged to stop things getting broken, did it all start to brake :mad:

He did say they are very dear though!!

Pretty sure they would have charged around £450+vat for a remap, which is done on the dyno, and is around £200 less then the RRP for Ecutek.

He would have had it mapped about 3 months ago it's covered in carbon and had White ultralites on

Both my forged engine failures, were bad luck due to turbos killing themselves (FP Green exploded and an Evo 9 turbo seized put the journal bearing into the sump, causing contamination of the oil).

I honestly can't remember the car mate, but as I was the only 1 with the equipment and knowledge of evo's then it would have been me doing the mapping.

I fancy one of these magnetic sump bungs!!

Just make sure you get 1 of the more expensive ones, as there has been story's of the cheap ones falling apart when the oil is upto temp

Altho i'm sure the camskill ones would be fine.

Will drop you a PM in a moment mate.

The 780's will give you more scope, and will remove the risk of maxing the injectors out.

As for the 7 ecu, well it's my prefered ecu to use if i'm honest (as thats what I use in my own Evo 6). But at the moment would strictly be nessesary, however if you plan to go bigger with the turbo in future and more aggressive cams, then it would more than likely be required then, and there quite hard to find, so getting one whilst you can wouldn't be a bad move (and if you never change the turbo and cams, you can always sell it on without loosing anything on it).
