the background first......

On buying my car from Xtreme there was a small mark on the drivers rear arch, which Xtreme said they would sort out ......

After a owning for under a year Xtreme's "bodgyness" has come to light all they did was sand down filler up and paint over so rust has now set in from the back of the arch leaving approx 2" of rust on the arch

Now I need to get it sorted ASAP, so I need a decent bodyshop to cut and reweld a new arch, or someone who can get hold of the rear drivers quarter panel and have her sprayed.

Any ideas guys and girls ???

and you get 2 year guarantee with them too!!!

is it rotten through that bad? most body shops will be able to treat the rust and fill and paint over the top.

I think extreme tried to do this but they used a independent bodyshop..who obviously didnt treat the rust, Im not that clued up on rust etc sponners so maybe you could explain the processfor me mate

Im not sure if its all the way through but it has already been fillered and painted, I noticed the paint was bubbling, so I had a poke about and found the rust/filler underneath the bubbles ???

just pop it down to a good body shop and let them take a look, I very much doubt it will need any welding done, as long as the rust is treated properly (they use a chemical that turns the rust back into steel) then it will be fine, but it is down to finding a proper bodyshop.

do pant motor bodies still have a good rep?

They do and dont ...the usual stories of some good some bad, I may give them a call and see what they can do

Will the rust chemical keep it that way or is it time till it comes back ?
