oil light coming on

hi everyone just recently my oil light is coming on when the evo idles just below 1000rpm, when the engine is cold it doesn't happen only once the car gets to temp as soon as i give it a few more rpms the light goes off the oil level is only slightly below the max level so is it my oil pump on the way out or is my oil getting thin and due a change

you need to get a mechincal oil guage on to check when hot, worst case senario, possible engine rebuild

Oil light indicates low oil pressure. If its happening when the engine is warm and only on idle then more than likely low oil pressure. Get an oil change and see if this solves it. When was your last oil change??

Opie Oils have always recommended 5W/40 to me for a daily drive with a bit of back road use. 10W/50 is good for track days.

As said above tho, sounds like oil pressure is low. Get an oil pressure gauge on there and check what it's at.

Change the Oil and Filter.

If the car is stock then go for Millers 10W/40.

Be sure to use a genuine Mitsubishi Oil Filter.
