Also.. anybody else found that the dodo red mist seems to eat the rubber seals in the spray bottles... think im on my 4th different spray bottle now after the seals gave way in all the rest

Nope

However all my megs professional sprays eat the spray heads ie wheel brightener,apc,oil and grease remover:cry:

Yea I do that trick with the hose and did I tell you I have one of them big drying towels lol

That purple drying stuff seams a wast of time if I have me towel so is the towel the better way to go then what, some of this lp stuf and some clay followed by red mist ??

what about these hand held polisher's from halford's that plug in to the lighter? Got to speed thing's up and mite help with the finish? Also reading up about the 3 step meg's it's more suited to darker colour's? Still do a good job on sliver?

I used the 3 step megs stuff on my deep red mondeo ST i had previously and it came up great... my now silver evo seems to prefer Autoglym, if thats of any help whatsoever...

if your just washig the car put the clay and lp away until you are ready to give it a good few hours of cleaningNever used the purple hase but detailing spray is a drying aid and it also provides a top up of shine between waxing. You dry your car using your big towel if you have one, and spray detail spray onto the panel you are drying (only a fine mist is required, don't soak) once you have done that panel repeat on the next and so on then get yourself a clean mf cloth and lightly give the whole car a light dutingto remove any dried detail spray job done for a clean gleming machine:wub:

Na she needs a good scrub. Not been done since it came out the bodyshop

I used to wash dry then just use auto glym super resin but I wanna try some of these other methods.
Think it's safe to say she needs a 1 day clean

Well method is if going to give a good clean is wash 2bm then use tardis spray to lower panels, ironx to top half of car including wheels and calipers, rinse off no need to dry then claybar session. Then either lime prime or machine polish then finished off with wax of your choice or glaze

No I didn't:disgusted: PS when claying make sure you use plenty of lube as you don't want to mar the paintwork:wtf:It's a sod to get off if you do

Yep good on ya nick.

I'm not a spannerman either but I was thinking of looking for an apprenticeship as a mechanic I'm just qualified as a joiner/carpenter.it would be hard to start over again

Like Nick said, when you're claying lube, lube, lube and... lube.
I find it's easier to have a bowl of hot water with 2 bits of clay in and swap between them so the clay stays soft and easy to fold. If you drop it, bin it.

Good tip that oh and renember to fold the clay after each panel as well

once you get started and see the difference you wont stop...

quick tip: get a plastic bag (like a sandwich bag) and put you hand inside. lightly feel the surface of your paint through the bag.....

....Clay this same area and feel it again through the bag and feel the difference
