The OP on that thread has posted expecting everyone to give him a big well done and a cuddle, in actual fact most of the members there agree that if the guy in the standard fq300 actually put a bit of effort in the VXR would not stand a chance, whether it be a standing start, rolling or otherwise.

my mate has the vx racing edition (which i think has the same power as normal one) and we had a little play (up to 70 of course) and he dissapeared in my mirror.

moral of story the author of the thread was dreaming woke up and went straight online, thank heavens the rest of the forum arnt as deluded as him haha

i dont know about the rest of you but im more than happy not driving like a tool everywhere and trying to prove a point that doesnt need proving which im sure the evo in the thread has the same opinion

and do they make an fq300 MR version thought it was 320

Hmmmm, troll looking for bragging rights...... to be fair the VXR are nice, but no match for an EVO, and lets be honest who wants to waste expensive fuel on an Ashtray?

threads been closed over there now. it got heated when a guy with a stage 3 VXR was saying how he would thrash a standard fq300, As you would damn well expect it to after spending nigh on 10grand.... whats funny is, spend 1 tenth of that money on a 300 and he will be sitting twiddling his thumbs as the evo drives away into the distance. :p

exactly why would you want to spend so much money on an astra its like type r civics and tegs i know loads of people who spent 1000s on them to make 220bhp!!

Mate of mine has a type R running just over 240BHP... stage 1, 2? He's spent a fair old bit of money on that over the years.

I will agree with the statement that the type r is a lot to tune for little increase in power, the beauty of the ep3 is the power to weight and handling.

The 2nd from last post in that vxr thread smashes it and puts him right in his place

Its quite simple. Most people on his own forum don't believe him, so the work's been done for us.

they are not worth putting all the power into the vxr. at the moment i am looking after my mates vw scirocco "r" which is now 302BHP.... far too much in the fwd and vw had even sorted the torque steer whereas vauxhall haven't as well. if you put your foot flat down you can spin the wheels into 3rd and sometimes 4th gear!!!
