All i know is its an Evo that i want. I have no knowledge of the car, apart from the the different types i.e evo 5,6 etc.

I have joined to learn from here and other sources about the Evo. End of october is my target and when i decide which Evo i will buy. My budget is £8000 max.

What i want to know is which models i should be looking into and resesrching about. like the pros and cons over other models. Any suggestions will be a direction to start with. I got like 9 months to gather as much info and make a final decision.

Appreciate all your experience and knowledge. Many Thanks

hard to say mate i always wanted a v so thats what i stuck at and ive had 2

they have both been great cars depends which one you think catches your eye

i can tell you now there appauling on petrol will bleed you dry in the wallet department unless your loaded an even then itll still swallow your cash because u will want mods doing etc

there not realy an everyday car i only use mine maybe twice a week

but having said that the buz and smile you will get from owning one makes all the above worth while

in short let us know what model you want then we can advise more on what to look out for etc

let me be the first to welcome you to evo owners for now mate

cheers mate. thanks for the heads up on the running costs, petrol definetly in mind. yeah it wont be everyday use but im been craving for one for a long time, think the time has come.

I'm more a biker at heart but the Evo for me is the ultimate car. I will pick an Evo over any other car including super cars, just personnal preference.

What Evo can i buy between £7000 and £8000. which specs should i be looking for etc or which is an over all better Evo?

For 8k you can get a mint 7 with all the mods and good power or you could get a ok 8 high miles and few mods maybe. :) It's a buyers Market out there for another 12 you could have mine

for me it was the same as steve... i had a similar amount of money but again, really love the look of the five. you can get a decent one for about 6k. that will leave you a bit for mods, insurance etc. i believe that the 6 and below have lower tax than the newer ones too.

and welcome :D

I will only invest once and keep the car for very long time, hence i am inclined towards a newer model to keep mileage down

but if the 5 is and many people agree that it is the best all rounder then dont even mind investsing in a 5. what sort of mileage should i be looking for in an evo 5? and what sort of mileage can i generaly get out of evo's???

if i was in your place id say the best value for money would be the 6. you can get a 5 with low mileage... i got mine for £5200 with 51000 on the clock. :)
i'm in no way stating that the 5 is the best, just imo. :D

its better than the 9 though ;)

usually if u buy a evo v they have only done arnd 60k if there fresh imports i know my last 2 did

believe it or not fresh v`s have less miles on them than newer evo`s

mine currently has arnd 62k on it

with that money mate get a 6. Will get a nice clean and modded one or a std one if you want to mod yourself with that cash. Better engine's than the 5! Plus you can do a rod job on 6 piston's. Basically if you go mod crazy(which you will lol) just a rod job and the engine's good for 450- 500 bhp. Plus the 6 looks nicer! Lee will be along soon to back this up lol. Or get the best looking evo the 4 with a 6+ engine best of both world's.

5 an 6 engines are the same only the rods that can take more power in a 6 but all depends on how much power/money u have to spend on the car

best looking evo 4:confused:
