electric mirrors

right ive been thinking of late does anybody know if u can wire the mirrors up so they open and close when ignition is turned on and off as sometimes i forget to press the switch when parked at the side of the road and tonight some merchant banker hit my mirror!!!!!!

it depends on what alarm system u have, if u have a toad or a clifford u could get a full closure system which will automactically close all windows and fold in mirrors when u leave the car and press the button on the alarm fob.

does kinda help but i wanted to know if there was a way of doing it myself before having an alarm engineer performing open wallet surgery on me:razz:

i was thinking of wiring a relay from the switch to the ignition wires maybe?

Im sure a good car spark could manage it ok,, Im going to look into it myself,,

i cant have mine wired up to my alarm for the simple reason i have to fold my mirrors in to get my car in the garage

but once out on the street i sometimes forget to fold them at side of the road

so this is why i need it done,so in short i need the switch to still work and have them fold once ignition off then open again when ignition on

there's a solanoid that u can get from clifford that attaches to the main brain of the alarm that will close ur mirrors :)

one solution would be to get a relay with a set-up the same as the interior lights... ie, when you unlock the car the mirrors fold out etc and then wont fold in when driving.
just a thought :)

just a thought :)

the only problem with that is when he unlocks he's car in the garage the mirrors will open and he has to fold he's mirrors in to get into the garage :razz:
