Hi Guys. New to the site. Quick question. Ive bought an R-Spec boost increasing kit, basically just a gauge, fitting kit and bleed valve etc!
My car has an HKS Exhaust, air filter etc, and also a 4 branch manifold, Norris Designs actuator and slightly bigger turbo.
I will obviously fit the gauge first to see whats going etc, but then need to know what boost I can safely run through the old girl!? My gauge is in psi.
Any help on the matter would be greatfully recieved! I dont want to blow her up!!!

If i was you mate, avoid the bleed valve type of controllers. Spend a bit of cash and get something like a HKS EVC 6. The stepper motor design means much quicker response so much better and safer. Evo runs about 1.0 - 1.1bar as standard. You can run about 1.4 - 1.5 without much fuss. ie the ECU will automatically increase the fuel intake to match the increase in air.

I wouldn't take it over 1.2bar as the 4 engine isn't very strong.

im running 1.1bar on my e4 with MBC manual boost controller and this has made a vast difference to performance, the MBC holds boost alot better then the stock OEM solanoid

you will get fuel cut anything over 1.3 bar so you will be in limp constantly on the standard ecu 1.2 bar is reali the most you can go and keep reliability

more importantly what injectors are in her and have you uprated the fuel pump ?
