Little smoke on boost

My mate's thinking of doing a deal on an evo 8 which has been remapped with ecu tec license (I think that's what it's called). Apparently it throws a little black smoke on boost but not all the time. It has only started doing it since the remap! It still has the standard fuel pump and no boost controller.

Why is it smoking? I'm guessing, turbo or piston rings? I'm not sure so thought I'd post.

Any ideas on the cause?

Could be a number of things mate

Turbo seals warn more than likely get the tubby recon'd

Black smoke will be fuel all Evo's will put a bit of black smoke out when coming onto and when on boost.

No nothing to worry about it will probably just want the fueling checking to be safe.

Not yet El. I've not had time to go down with him and view it. I've been a little busy with family (they just got back from holiday).

yeah black is fuel, blue is oil and white is water if just black should just be extra fuel when being booted
