I've posted in the newbie section introducing myself. Now it's time to get down to business. I have no clue on whats involved when it comes to tuning evos. I'm looking at an evo8 and am curious to know what the tuning capabilities of them are and the costs of such modifications
I'm hopefulling purchasing a nice silver fq320 this weekend. Where shall I start?
Cheers

for stage one mods the 8 is good for about 380bhp.
You'll need -
fuel pump
decat
boost controller
remap

Ah that's not nice to hear. Well it is one of my dads mates who's selling it through his company so it better not be a lemon!
Wow 380bhp from just that, very Impressive!
What does stage2 involve
And also, I've come from the world of astray vxr's so when doing any form of power modifications everything else has to be made up. Eg. LSD, AP racing big brake upgrades etc. What level does the Evo need this doing?

As mentioned above really mate is good place to start

As for LSD your Evo won't have or need any cos you have ayc which is computer controlled hydraulic Diffs :)

As for brakes it depends on what your gonna use the car for really. Standard brembo's are ok but they don't like lots of heat so if your gonna be pressing on quite a bit then I would recommend some performance friction 2 peice discs and a set of xp carbotech pads. Have these on my own car and they transformed it !
You can get these from most traders like indigo-Gt :)

Other than that for serious track use or just added bling you want an Ap or ksport brake kit or Alcon kit which also an awesome set up

Give Antony@indigo-gt a shout, he is on here and there is the indigo-Gt online shop :)

Thanks for the help pal it's nice knowing there's enough people who are serious about these cars. I've heard good things about the k-sport brake kits as they've just became available for the astra vxr (which I currently own)
But I won't be pressing on very much maybe 2-3 track days a year in the summertime

It's been well talked about and people that have used Ap brake kits have also used ksport brake kits and reported equal performance which is very good cos sports are half the price of an AP kit :)

Oh and feel free to click the woot button to thank people for there kind comments

What you not collecting post counts anymore Lee, it's all about the woot:confused:

The novelty will wear off soon enough!!!

When everyone has thanked each other around 7 or 8 times, they will have to start thanking other/new members just to increase their own WOOT count.

It is a system that was set in place to combat WOOTaholics before they become addicted to it!;)

If it carries on like this, before they know it, they will all be in the same boat with a million WOOTS each and no real way to differentiate between them.

He meant Sponners :) He's a member

 :D :D :D

You could ask our sponsors but they would just give you an insurance quote! ;)

m7gsr was right, I was referring to Sponners, he will give you all the advice you need and can carry out the required modifications too.
