Emissions and ECU

So car failed MOT emissions. Readings were as follows:

CO = 7.88
HC = 413

How bad is this exactly?? CAT has now been fitted what would i be looking at now? How do i get my ECU remapped if i cant drive the car?

Does anyone know of anywhere in the Staffordshire area to get my baby back to being healthy?

Ah i was just looking at your site was going to call you tomorrow! i will upload the latest sheet i have, it is confusing it says at the top Non-Catalyst equipped vehicles.

So it's just the lack of cat causing high co, or the cats knackered

Thanks mate, this was what they said so cat has now been fitted in place of decat pipe but they saying it's still high telling me I may need a specialist to look at it. I know it's cheeky but any chance you could call the garage in question to speak with them about it? I will sort you out a drink mate if you could help at all!!

Sounds simple but get the car hot before taking it in. have them ready to test it and drive there at high RPM and low speed. don't let it overheat but let it run hot (temperature gauge probably won't show hotter than normal)

That should get the catalyst running properly and doing it's job, chances are they just started it and drove it onto the ramp/space then tested it

It's surprising how many garages go that and then try to claim you need some work done

Bit difficult though when the garage have it already as has no brakes.........! When they originally tested it it was booked in for 10:30 and didn't do it until about 12:00 so that fits.......

Ok so could I get the garage to call you later and you could perhaps tell them to make sure it's hot they will listen to someone that deals with evo!!!

Yeah if need be but they should know that themselves, ideally could be doing to see what lambda was at also.

Ok mate, just spoke to them and they reckon they tried the number but only ever get an message saying no one there but cant leave message.

Would you be able to call them tomorrow?? Think they are scared of it as they trying to get me to pick it up again but have no brakes still..........
