Hi there folks!!

Had 2 questions and hope ya'll can help me out here goes:

1.: thinking of buying "HKS Super Mega Flow Reloaded Kit (Evo 8/9) 70019-BM019" I guess these will fit the evo5 as they have the same maf sensor? So the adapter should be the same? Just wanted confirmation on this.

2. Clutch, thinking of start saving for a clutch (120k kms on oem clutch) heard that a clutch & flywheel combo from evo 789 are stronger? Or should I just go for an evo5 clutch? If so any recommendations? Car is just a road car with the 2/3 times a year hit the drag strip I was thinking of an exedy.. stage1?

I'd imagine the induction kit doesn't fit unless you've done a battery relocation?

Then maybe it could be modded to fit.


I'm running an evo 9 clutch, but I don't do any launches. I've read the OEM stuff doesn't like launching so you may have to get something stronger.

Really? I thought you'd just remove the filter box and fit it by the maf with the adapter kit? Maybe some one can clarify.

Ditto there bud since I owned my car never launched it and I guess I never will (but oh temptations sometimes lol) how does the pressure from the e9 clutch feels compared to std? And I'd immagine you bought with the flywheel?

The configuration of the 8/9 engine is different, compared to ours the battery and airbox is the opposite way round...... It was the better way to have it, and so are cars are "evolutions" of each other.

If you do a battery relocation you'll be fine, the kits switch our batteries round to the same of the 8/9

Google standard evo 8 engine bay, and compare to yours.

9 clutch is just like any other clutch, easy to use and has never slipped on mine, was running 1.8bar for a bit too back on 1.6/1.7 now.

I've done a wet launch, was like a rally car setting off! All 4 wheels spinning!

Yeah I know what you mean but this is just the adapter + mushroom filter so I thought I just needed to remove the filter box to expose the maf and just fit adapter + filter? Am sorry if I'm hard headed and missing something here or the maf are different?

Ohh man I envy you lol all 4 spinning? Must of been epic! I can sometimes feel a light slip thats why I dicided on saving for when that fatefull day arrives

Nope my bad, I assumed it was the full pipe kit to turbo too. It will be fine if that's the case. Most induction kits are sold as a 4-9 kits.

Phew! Thats a relief, where I'm from coldest it's been is 25celcius (at night time) day time @ 31-33 celcius, when u launched it did you let it slip or just dumped?

Was rolling at a couple mph so wasn't standing, just dumped it.

Ha you'll struggle then, you will need to master slipping the clutch slightly for launches.
