Knock and Spiking??

Hi Guys,

Can anyone give me a little more info on the above. Heard both terms a few times now and don't really know/understand either of them??

Knock is pre ignition in the engine or pinking as it was known as some years ago it can be caused by many things but the common culprits are too much ignition timing and lean afr mix.

Spiking is normally related to boost as in the boost will spike to 1.8 bar and hold 1.6 bar then taper off the spike gives you the extra torque and helps get the car going and onto boost
