Recovering paperwork for cars

Anyone know how?

My Evo came with nothing other than the current MOT. I have got all the info on other MOTs and printed them off from the .gov website.


But is there anything else I can do? Old service history or the import paperwork? Anything at all to build a bit of a port folio. The lack of paperwork is almost embarrassing.

The only way to do it with imports is by getting in touch with previous owners.

Follow up on whatever they tell you by contacting the garages they mention.

Failing that, you will just need to get every service item done, irregardless of what the last owner or trader has stipulated and try to be meticulous with paper work in the future.

Quite right, as I stated earlier, the best way forward is to contact the previous owners and then follow up by contacting any and all garages that they mention as having taken their car to for servicing / additional Service Intervals.

All garages, large or small, keep records these days either on Paper or on a PC.

There are the odd few that will not forward any records to new keepers as they view records as personal transactions that are recorded on a database, in this case the previous owner has to request the records in person due to the Data Protection Act.

the main one for my case would be to get the 1st owners service book as its a low mile 48k on the clock so shouldnt have been far :sad: still a task and a half but sure would be worth it if something came from it
