what coolant/antifreeze

right! i am about to change my alloy radiator on my e6 and was wondering what antifreeze i need to use? the stuff in it at the moment is blue..

i went to halfords to have a look and all they do is blue silicate or red oat also notice comma g40 which is blue...

and is 5litres enough?

any help would be great...

well u r changing the rad so most of your old stuff will be flushed.... failing that after the new rad is in fill her up with water bleed the air out the system then drain again. that way she will be fully flushed... i made the mistake of buying the big 5lts and after doing a 50/50 mix ive probably got enough left todo another two coolant changes m8. if i new now i would of got the smaller bottle

comma extreme green as already said :)

2.5 litres is plenty as system holds around 5 litres.

there is a drain on bottom of the rad. empty it all out with the rad cap off and then refill with water and drain again if you wanna flush it :)

What ever colour came out put the same back in. Unless completely flushing as they dont mix. Difference between the colours is price and use life,green has longest life blue shortest and pink in between. Even the blue is good for a couple of years though so it all depends how often your fluids end up on the floor, they all do the same job.
