Hi all

Right been debating what to do about this, running so cheap 2.75 inch stainless turbo elbow. I really don't see how some of these 3inch items are really worth the money. Been thinking about getting mine modded so its 3inch on outlet to remove the "bottle neck" but in reality is it really worth it?

What am I really going to gain. Minimal improvement in flow at best? Modular would be nice but don't think they are worth the money not when the down pipe I have is 3inch.

Just after some thoughts on this, will probably get it off tomorrow and take it to a local fabricator see what they think.

Input please

Cheers
Matt

Matt i have The C-TEC full system and including elbow and i can say this much that the elbow along with the down pipe was a good modification as the car felt alot more responsive and more crisp sounding!

That is a seriously nice looking elbow ;) bet that wasn't too cheap?

I get that together with a down pipe it will make a difference. Not sure if its worth replacing the elbow or not and if so with what? See yours is a true 3 inch some aren't they are only 3 inch at the bottom.

Yes agreed Matt:) TBH I got a good deal from NigelS as i bought the complete system! I have seen alot of so called performancce elbow's and all so seen where they split etc:sad: For the money matt i do believe the C_TEC is well worth buying:)

I will say the Exhaust note on my car is very different to most Evo's and that's just how i like it!

What was you thinking of dong Matt exhaust wise?

Can't fault getting a good price on my quality part. Know most cheap ones go, not to sure what to think of the tt or invidia elbows. The latter looks to be 2.5 inch turbine side and then 3inch when the watergate feed meets.

Need to get a video so I can hear what its like.

Exhaust wise I have a full magnex system so true 3inch with 3.5inch rolled tail pipe :) do like the sound of it. With the new turbo and race tech manifold I fear the elbow is going to be the weak link.

Tut tut, what boost gauge have you got? I used the evc 5 as a gauge ;) hopefully it will control boost as well now.

To be fair it would feel flat if it was much of a leak. It's the faff of stripping it all off when you have it running ;)

Good choice in gauges ;) do like the depos. Get them wired in lol.. Easy enough to fit, they come with instructions so you only need to pick up a decent live and make an earth :)

Strange.....

Hmmm yeah suppose so, but i have to make a hole in the top of my dash due to me having a triple top dash pod and dont want the wires coming out the side or rear of pod,

I would get someone else to do that, wouldn't be to happy putting a hole in the dash. I ran a wire up from the centre console for the evc 5 and the gauges are by the a pillar so no worries there.
