Has anybody heard this noise? And is it safe to still drive with?

your looking to get a new? if so just disconnect the old one till you do.

sounds like the motor is knackered. repairable though. strip the pump down and get yourself a rebuild kit off here. be extra careful with the solenoids though, they are very very delicate !!

Unplug it to try save what you can.
Driving with it not working isn't a problem as the fluids are still in it

Can you do that with e7 I know you can do that on the earlier models. For me to get that noise I turn the ignition on and then push the Excelerator pedal down, the noise doesn't always happen while I'm driving. Do you know why I also wouldn't have any warning lights up.
