this my sound daft but would the whole thing need setting up again as explained, seeming that it has already been installed, could i not just raise the boost/duty to 1.70 60% without ajusting everything

From what I remember you telling me earlier, you tried that and there was no difference at all

I then asked you if the AVC-R was connected to the solenoid in the engine bay.......I still have not got an answer to that question!

sorry about that. yes its connected and when i turned it up i didnt go back thru the menu or turn the duty up so ive yet to try it, and i havent been out in it today, ill report to you tommorrow with the results el, but everything in the engine bay it connected as far as i can see

are you sure the car has been mapped for higher boost?

seems strange why you wouldn't have the higher setting already set on the avcr??? (the avcr has obviously not lost its settings)


if your not 100% sure that its been mapped for the higher boost then leave it be.

If I remember correctly he did say that it was set to 1.7 originally.........not too sure now so I will re-read the posts in a while.

I was right, the car has been Dyno'd at 1.7 so I presume it was mapped to that too.

Are there any receipts or paper work relating to the mapping side of things buddy???

ok will explain better. the car was never set at 1.7. it is set at A 1.35 and 50% and B at 1.30 0% im also confused because it has rolling road dyno at 299.6 but then ritten on the graph it has 399.6bhp with terrible writing so i cant make it out.but its something like +100transmission loss =399.6 now the last owner had it advertised on piston heads (400 bhp evo 6 ) hence my purchase,, and he said it was currently running aprox 360 on the current settings and that the at 1.7bar it would reach 399 bhp. it was done by pj motorsport so im wondering if they have it in there files and it might be worth calling them and finding out.

It was all making sense until you mentioned PJ MortorSport!!!!

I would take the car for another Dyno as I know the clowns at PJ and they are total idiots and liars.

They are supposed to be RS specialists but I have never met an RS owner that has had a good experience with them, not even now, even though they have been going for well over 15 years!!!

A monkey could have learned the complete ins and outs of a particular car given that amount of time!!! :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Most of the cars that they tune, blow up before they reach the bottom of the road or half way home and that is no exaggeration at all.

I have never come across a car that has been to them and come out running right

I would not be surprised if they just take customers cars under the perception of a Dyno Run and just give them any old print out!!!

They are known to us as a place that you can take a low powered car to in order to get a high powered print out for when you want to sell your car on :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

I am not saying that the guy you bought the Evo off did this, he probably thinks that Paul is the best tuner on the planet as he has a knack for chatting waffles and making things up about himself and his firm.

How did he get 90+ just from an AVC-R????

Did the car come from the West Midlands????

In light of what you have just told us and what I have just told you buddy, I suggest that you just run the car at 1.3 and get some one over there to check the map for you as soon as possible.

Maybe Sponners or Jamie might be able to get you some details for a Geek Mapper in Spain perhaps???

If you get a chance to buddy, please scan the print out and post it up on this thread. I would love to take a look at it.

oooooooohhhh well im gona take your advise el. it did come from the midlands as well. if there is anyone that can help me over here then i would be more than happy to pay someone for there time i would even pay for someone,s flight and acomadation to come over and look at it. abit extreme i know but better then blowing the thing up. im terrible with computers hence why i still dont have a profile pic but i will post pics of the graphs as soon as im back el.
