What things should I pay attention?

I probably will see a EVO VII with a bit less than 74.000 miles (120.000km) and the question is :

Mechanically, what parts can require more attention ? There is any "chronic problem" ?

I am a bit worried about that mileage :sad:

But if I buy it I will do a check up on Mitsubishi.

Nothing wrong with mileage along as its been looked after, there was a 8 on the MLR done 200k

Even if car have some problem I will do a deep check up and fix if there is anything wrong.

I saw the car parked and I went there to do one eye review, seats perfect condition. I only found the steering wheel a bit used.

Outside I didn't find any problem besides the dust on it and the front bumper have a little mark without paint.

But my problem is mechanical where I can't see.

Test drive will reveal most troubles but apart from that its a bit of lottery there will always be something not quite right.

I know that but I don't mind to pay a full check up on Mitsubishi to be sure that my car is in perfect condition you know what I mean ?!

I don't want problems on turbo and the clutch for example, that should be the more expensive problem.

Mitsubishi still provides new parts for EVO VII ?

Timing belt anywhere between £200 - £300 all in.

Don't really understand what your getting at. Timing belts are standard procedure for most people in that the replace them being the new owner can be anywhere between £280-£500 from the quotes I've had!

Suspension bushes can go at any point depends how hard a life it's had.

All in all the main things to worry about are service history and rust, listen big clonks etc when driving, whines and gearbox crunches like you would any car.

An evo 7 with 70,000 miles on it will not be like brand new and will probably have troubles ahead that the old owner doesn't even know about!

With these cars you buy them, enjoy them, break them a bit, then fix them.
