limp mode

Got a strange problem with my 7. car runs sweet day to day but whenever it sees a motorway decides that it will go into limp. Had a nightmare 13 hour journey to Alton Towers the other week. 6 breakdowns 3 rac call outs and a very miffed mrs and 13 year old son sat on hard shoulder or in garage.
1st time it happened a few months back I was luckily near Indigo and they said probably spark plugs as they were in a sorry state.
Anyway it happened again this time luckily near Chevron motorsport in Stafford and they replaced coils anyway still happened again on the way home.
Car goes into limp mode then backfires.
codes pulled say random misfire and 1 garage pulled code p0003 which I think is fuel pressure problem.
do you think it could be a mapping problem or something else, any advice or ideas would be really welcome
Thanks

Advice - take it to a specialist to sort the problem once and for all.

Who you take it 2 ?

Actually thinking about it 3 specialist have had a look
Indigo gt / dave rowe / chevron motorsport

in fairness I haven't left the car with them as they all said it was either plugs or coils which were then replaced and still have the issue.
I am going to call Alan Jeffery in Plymouth today. The main problem and why I am asking here is there are no specialists in cornwall so means taking the car on a long trip to see someone, which is not really possible unless I trailer the car and that's £££££
