Why you asking?? Do you think once a thread is a week old nobody can post on it?? Interested to hear peoples thoughts as well as your very well opinionated views too James!

now come on.. i thread a few days maybe a few weeks old is ok. If some1 is searching through and needing some help or to bump it up.

but seriously doing it from threads that are years old is pointless and even more so when the threads are not relevant!!!

Think we both know the reason behind that don't we!! Look at how long in general a thread lasts for on here! Your lucky if it makes 2 pages.

This is how I see it, if a thread is not closed and I haven't read it before and I feel I want to make a comment I am quite within my rights to post like your quite within your rights not to look on an old thread.

Maybe we should all sit hovering above waiting for welcome and only evo related threads! Just think how exciting that would be!

I think its so supermario can boost his thread count. If a thread is over a year old it general means that the topic of discussion came to an end. Bumping it with a smilie face is really annoying, thats why there should also be a minimum character count in a post of about 10.

I have to agree,I think all if not then most if the members have long gone and I think the real newbies now will suffer as people will get bored of reading posts going back years, read old posts yes but commenting on them and bringing them forward is pointless in my eyes.

I don't see the issue here really, of you get caught out answering seriously to a thread that's years old then hahaha but don't dwell on it. As James says just because its been left alone for more than an alloted amount of time doesn't mean it's no longer postable.

To be fair it's keeping the place a bit a active in times where there isn't much else going on, I too am guilty of this as I have no Internet at the min and people in general are on hols, at shows ect.

Carry on James and fill your boots, it's good to see an old thread from time to time, and have you had any luck with the first ever thread on here

Yes Craig it is rather dull at the minute! Seems to me people prefer it that way.

Not found the first thread yet but I will!

it might be quite at the moment (for want ever reason) but its better it being quiet than trying to make it look more in interesting by dragging up old stuff, especially 2-3 years old.
It like people with no friends, they end up having make believe ones,

why don't you just post something new that's interesting?

i find this thread boring.

its not harming anyone bringing up old threads, if you dont like the thread no need to look at it.

Old threads are fine, providing there is something new to add to the thread. Pointless posting which adds nothing is just annoying and stupid. But if there is something new, another pov or what ever then fine.
Basically use common sense (and yes I know common sense isnt actually very common but do what you can!)

I agree but nearly if not all of the recent bumps have been nothing new, no point of view expressed , no update from the original poster to inform of changes in situation.

As you can not automatically tell how old a thread is when it is at the top, you have to click on to the last page then look at the previous posts to see when they were posted, that's the annoying part of it.

I wouldn't say ANYONE had been caught out but I can't be bothered to read the whole thread just to make sure the actual newbie in question is still on the forum.i can't see how bringing up 3+ years old threads help anyone?

You don't need to troll the thread to see if they still on board, the forum provides you with a quick symbol that says if you have posted on a thread or not so all you have to do is look out for that and if you have posted already there isn't a need to post again.

A few people have been caught out so far and it tickles me haha, keep on it James you will find it
