I obviously never did anything to that car as it was a Seibon bootlid but I've taken badges off a good few cars now and I've had no problems.
I heat the badges with a hairdryer, a heat gun can be used but it would be overkill and most people have access to a hairdryer.
Keep it at about 2-3 inches from the badge and constantly move it so as not to concentrate too much heat in one spot.
I use fishing gut, get it behind the badge and gently move it back and fore in a sawing action.
When the glue is ready the badge should just about fall off so if it doesn't, give it more heat.
Ones its off there will be glue residue left over I give it a rub with my thumb whilst its still warm and the worst of it comes off.
When it is cool I use contact cleaner but petrol or other solvent would do.
Dab it on with a cloth so it soaks in a bit then after a little while it should wipe off.
Some times, well only on older cars there was a bit of mankyness left, probably old wax and stuff so give it a bit of a polish/T cut.
Remember and put on a good coat of wax afterwards as you will have taken it right back to the paint so will need to protect it.
