I havent done it but an RS diff is all mechanical so the pump, pipes and reservoir for the AYC all become redundant. Might as well remove them if you want the conversion as its dead weight. Oh and the bulb in the dash :)

I'd realistically budget for £2000, £2500 tops. Not saying you can't get it for less, but you should be prepared. If you have a 5 then, yes, it will replace the AYC and you can get rid of the AYC pump too (you have to keep the pump on the VII+ for ACD). The RS diff is just a mechanical version of what AYC does electronically.

Would depend if you were going to do the work, rs diff from Ross sport will cost £1,500 then its the work or fitting to the car.

i sell the rs rear diffs for £1500 and there a fairly easy fit, factor i that you will get aprox £400/£500 for your old pump and diff (depending on condition/miles). if you went to a trader to get it fitted and old removed you would be looking at approx £200 including oils
