Hi,
I'm Nick, 23 years old and I live in Belgium (so I'm sorry for my crappy English). I got myself an evo for about a month now.
I thought that I might share the plans and updates of my car with you.
I first drove a Seat Ibiza but my friend had a R33 GTR and bought him a R34 GTR last year and I was thinking "Maybe I also should buy a JDM car, has the looks, goes fast and you don't see them so often.
So after going to a bunch of brands and models I was looking at an evo and I knew this was the car I wanted...
About the car... It's a UK import evo VIII, first registration 30 December 2004, had about 44200 miles when I bought it and was in stock condition. Except the HKS exhaust.
When I got it I mounted Tein coilovers and a HKS superflow airfilter, so that's about it. For now...
Now before you all ask, why a UK import car? Because it's 5-6K € cheaper than a Belgian evo and about the steering wheel... I actually don't mind, I like to have a car that's special
.
Updates won't come every week or so and I'm not planning of getting 500-600 Hp out of it. It's a daily driver so it consumes more fuel than I can drink beer
.
So my plans are:
-Put the body and paintwork back in good condition.
-Paint the brake calipers.
-Mount the Rota rims.
-Mount some gauges in the dash.
-Mount other spoiler on the trunk, probably a APR GTC200.
-Mount a radio where I can use my Ipod/Iphone. (previous owner already had an Ipod cable in the center console)
-Mount evo 7 or 9 rearlights.
-Cooling plate (carbon/kevlar... in a doubt...)
-Plug cover (carbon/kevlar... same problem here
)
-Mount silicon hoses in the engine bay.
-Mount another clutch.
-Mount another exhaust manifold.
-Mount a larger intercooler (any info which one is good??)
-Mount another fuel pump (255-300 lph model)
-Get it mapped after a few engine updates so I can use the full potential of the engine upgrades.
-....
The first thing that happened is putting the paint and bodywork in good condition.
In a few months I probably change the spoiler back to a big one. Maybe a full carbon one from Seibon or a APR GTC200 Really in a doubt about that.
Plans are the first year putting the exterior back in good condition and afterwards the engine and stuff...
Some pictures:
The Seat Ibiza
The evo
The rims
At the moment it looks like this
Things I've changed after the rims and stuff:
HKS SSQV Blow-off valve (Original was broken)
Go Fast Bits GForce II boostcontroller
Mounted a radio relocation kit
Next month I gonna collect a Megan Racing exhaust header...
That's about it for now... If you have tips or hints I'll hear it
Grtz Nick
