Brought the old girl back home tonight, so good to get back behind the wheel again !
It scares me at first getting back in the hot seat. Forget just how much power is on tap lol

To summarise the clutch feels so much more positive and selecting gears is just a breeze now so good job well done

Battery re located too while I was in there cos the last battery gave up the ghost so bigger and better one now in the boot

Made a couple changes for this year but keeping that under wraps for now :razz:



Battery in boot I used a BMW E36 power cable so nice and thick and up to the job with its original terminals still crimped on so no chance of anything going wrong.
My mate wingnut made the tray then I bolted it down a got a proper clamp to hold it in place too.

Glad you used thick cable,some very respected and expensive evo tuner relocated my mates in his e4 and used the thinnest cable I've ever seen to run a car. in 10 years of auto electrics I thought I'd seen it all. Good effort

Well, I looked at what other people used then thought well... If its good enough for BMW then its good enough for me

It's well routed too so no danger of it chafing anywhere

I think I know what your other mods are. Have you made a new rear 3point strut brace using some string to attach each top mount to another point in the boot? Giving you maximum rigidity.

Are you going to cover the battery lee?

Not the best idea to leave the terminal points un-covered imo!

Yes, going to trim the covers to suit that came with it. But that's just cosmetic

Disaster !! Once I ventured out of bed I thought I'd get that little leak sorted then give car a polish but no
Seems I've gained a little water feature down the front of the block





So after alot of avoiding the issue and paying more attention to the bloke next doors race car and just generally wandering around finally with some help from a mate (and the usual banter from wingnut)
the spanners came out AGAIN







Headgasket being the issue here
No leak into cylinder or into oil ways just the leak out and down over the face of the block

Just under 2 years, that's about right for a head gasket isn't it lol
