remove paint from carbon ?

My IV has a carbon bonnet on it but has been painted to match the car.
My question is how do I get the lovely carbon gloss finish that was there before.
Has anyone on here done it?:thinking: I don't want to sand it down and damage it.

You my find mate that who ever painted it rubbed it down to paint it and you may find there is no glossy shine any longer and you will be up the creek with out a paddle:shock:

I was thinking it will be sanded underneath to get the paint to stick in the first place,but surely it could be lacquered?:thinking:

it would of been rubbed down before paint, but nothing to stop it getting rubbed down and relacquered restoring it to its former glory, if you arent happy about doing it yourself a body shop should have no problems.

think about the carbon spoilers where the lacquer is ****ed, all a body shop does it rub it down then relacquer
