Hair brained ideas

Not sure if this is in the right place but here we go!

Have any of ya ever had any hair brained ideas on increasing the performance of your engine? I ask because I got a fair few ideas but never get round to testing them out or know if they are any good or something that some one tried and found to be crap.

Gotta say that I am interested to hear what any of ya have to say and what any pro's on here gotta say too.

Not bothered about me car going bang, will try them out on me colt first! I have some right mad ideas that I reckon will work a treat but not willing to reveal nothing yet...too early to get laughed at!

well xhaust & filter adds some,,,,

I know those mods and have them from a long time ago, am askin if any one of ya out there has any hair brained ideas that they think would increase performance..........

if there are any apart from the norm,,,, and people knew about it,,, then wouldnt there be a few tunning companies not doing so well,,,

That don't really mean anything, performance mods start somewhere in someones head and then progress from there don't they?
The turbo and supercharger came from somewhere just like the cone filters and such like. I have some ideas but want to hear from others forst before I put them forward for ya all to take the mick out of me.

i know what u are saying that all things start out as an idea,,, but usually as far as the mods etc go, some one has allready been there done that,,,,,

aint the ways that u can get more preformance etc allready been covered/done!!!

if im wrong and you have a brill idea,, Then i will shut up and you can say i told you so

Well it may well go round and round for ages like ya sayin because I waitin for some input first mukka There's gonna be loads of things out there that HKS and others don't push out because they got too many lines and some new ones will make existing ones obsolete.

To give ya an example, when I was just learnin to drive, me dad got me a Mitsi Colt which I still have and I had a stripped down leaf blower attached just before the MAf with a resistor by-pass which made the car move like a 1.5volt motor does when it got a 24volt feed I had it rigged via a switch on me steering wheel like the NOS type (don't laugh) and boy it went! Me mate reckoned I needed bigger injectors or some kind of map to compensate the fueling which was not enough as me car used to kind of det when it shot forward. Not bad at 17 if I say so meself

I'm still working on this one which I know will be well good as I seen crappy fake superchargers on fleebay selling for quite a bit with loads sold and they all pants compared to my thing which sounds awesome too!

That idea was done by Jamex a very long time ago, they went bankrupt many years back.

Come to think of it, it was soon after they brought that forced induction kit out

I had a similar thing on my first car which was a Charade, I had a dismantled Dust Buster on it without the vacuum bag

Worth developing in my opinion, go for it and see where it leads you.

what was the boost gauge reading on the colt at 4k rpm?
