Is this a good price?

Hi Guys,

Been speaking with a local chap who can get me:

Manley Forged Pistons with rings (85mm).
Manley Forged H-Beam Rods with ARP Rod Bolts.

£712 Delivered to my door.

Is this a good price and what kind of bhp would this setup take (Obviously along with uprated bearings/gaskets etc.

Yeah mate just toying with the idea atm, just had remap and already have the need for more power would i need a different block? its an evo 6 btw

Standard vi block is fine as long as the bores arnt out of shape or damaged. In which case you might want to go 85.5mm and a rebore

Ok cheers mate as far as i know mine should be perfect he says he can also get other sizes should i need them. Would i need to replca the crank aswell?

Strange how he showed me a set in a manley box with paperwork

quick look on ebay puts the pistons at £317

Don't rule out OEM mitsi bearings - speak to a few in the know (GrayW, Ears etc.) and they would rather use them over the likes of ACL (for many reasons)... forged, strokers etc. Mitsi bearings seem to offer better blue-printing with more sizes.

The likes of MADevelopments seem to use stock or Cosworth no matter the engine power.

Nothing wrong with ACL etc , just worth asking about before you commit.
