different take on fog light placement

had to plumb a fog light on for mot, as the last one decided to come of the bracket and disapear (left with two wires hanging.)
so i got hold of a rear window brake light (this one was from a ford mondeo) that happened to fit almost perfectly into the rear bumper (slight modding needed.)
just thought i would put the picture up as i know some of you guys/girls had them set in the bumper.
but most imports just tend to have the fog hanging under the bumper looking s**t.

yep is a bit of a mongral. 6 spoiler and dials. 5 bodypanels and bumpers.

yeah has passed mot. did ask a few guys that did mot's first and they said it would be fine.

do they have to turn the fog on, for it to pass an mot? mine dont work anymore, bulb looks fine the fillament is intact.

yeah they are supposed to, whether they do or not depends on how thorough the chap is at doin his job. for example when i came to put this fog in it did'nt work, so i followed the wires back to find they did'nt go anywhere. not even close to the fog switch???

i know my fogs worked at one point. just as to why they stopped is behond me....

if the bulb is ok could be a break in the wire or maybe switch or fuse

fuse may well be the problem, wherever that is.
i know the switch works as the light comes on(on the switch).

If the light comes on on the switch then you need to check the wires at the other end to see if there is a current coming through.

Yeah, i knew theres power to the switch, but after that, it goes wrong, looks like the fog has been botched on at the chassis.

did not know they actually worked, thought they where just for show????
why do imports come fixed with a fog light fixed to the bottom or built into the bumper then?????

They are not a requirement in the JDM but are in Europe and the Americas etc.

It is the easiest and cheapest way to get them fitted in the bumper or below it for the MOT prior to registration being granted as kits are readily available.
