after alot of searching im not sure what order to do things so any help here guys i would much appreciate as so many dif story's and ways of doing it.
Basicly im at stage 1 on my IX FQ340

HKS Mushroom induction
Welbro fuel pump
De-cat
3 port

had it mapped by rich at RG motorsport and sitting around the 400BHP mark.

Obviously for more power ill have to start upgrading engine parts, Whats the next step in order, fmic? Injectors? etc... wanna be around the 450 mark maybe a little more. dont wanna spend mega bucks. basicly need to know the next step. have a budget of around £1500 - 2k roughly

Thanks in advanced. :D

To go more power you need a rebuild, stronger rods pistons etc. 400 is on the verge of what people deem safe tbh.

Injectors and a rod job to stop all the worrying when you running around the 450.
You'd be best off leaving it if its a road car

Ok had a little more searching for rod job etc and found some silly money stuff which i dont really wanna do but found

Conversion price is £1099 + vat

Manley forged H beam rods
Machine work to standard pistons to allow fitment of forged rods
Evo 9 o/e head gasket
Silkolene engine oil
O/e oil filter

New cam shaft & balance shaft drive belt fitted £86.00 + vat

So a total inc VAT = £1417 then what injectors would/should i go for? 750cc 1000cc?

Usually a rod job is around the 2k mark yea
I'd be looking at cams as well while its all in bits and springs and retainers while the head is off and cams are out.

Then fit a good quality front mount cooler and a bigger turbo and injectors and depending which turbo you go for will depend wether your at 450 or 500 bhp :)

if your not happy with a good 400 then you will never be happy.. you will just be chasing numbers and your tail around to be fair,

Read the last of the stage 1 sticky. I've also done a stage 2+ thread. Have a search!

Don't forget to fit another clutch ;) and a really good map so there is no dent otherwise buy buy motor.

400/400 is a good bench mark to hit, you would need bigger injectors to make 450bhp as that's about max of stock. Don't want to be running them at 100% duty. As has been said about, fmic, turbo, cams.. You can get away with 272's on stock springs.

Get the fuel pump, new exhaust, better filter (not a hks) ;) and get it mapped. Will make a difference.

Im no expert but if you cant see a healthy 350bhp/more and similar torque then theres something wrong
