9 turbo on an 8

Hey Guys,

Is it worth putting a 9 turbo into my 8 MR?

Have one spare and just wondered if its worth dumping in.

the 8 has 3" straight through and decat exhaust,Up rated fuel pump etc

Just had nice service, brakes, fluids changed, and new shiny plugs

Boost controller going in, and then a re map.. but before the map - wondered if a 9 turbo is worth doing or not, seeing as its spare?

No idea what series! If its worth changing I will put on my MR, and then sell mine.

Only done 32k miles in the 8MR

look at the 9 turbo if the numbers start with 01380 then its worth changing

So if it is an 80 series then why is it worth swapping? Better internals?

Standard Mr turbo will see 400/400 like mine

Bare in mind that you'll also need the j pipe and oil return line from the 9, to fit the 80 series to your 8

9 turbo is better end of. It's bigger too so will give better power at lower boost.

You will need a evo 9 j pipe to fit mind, or a hks evo 9 j pipe. If you mr has the hks hard pipe kit you will need a reducer to fit the j pipe to the lower if pipe..
