I Want 300bhp

Basically the Evo 8 i am going to purchase being the 260 model allready has an after market Exhaust system but not sure it its from cat back or turbo back . The car has an FMIC and a uprated filter i think and a gay baileys dumb valve which is coming out ASAP (i know they dont add in BHP).

So what would i need to do to get my car to the 300 mark or further eg more mods a better air filter, ECU remap, fuel pump, injectors u know stuff like that:D

U might laugh at me for asking a really newbie question but it could just mean a simple ECU remap with a bigger LPH fuel pump to take me to 300 ponies:cool:.

I would say a simple re map and a HKS air filter, also defo get rid of that Bailey Dump Valve as they are pants!! - But there will be some more help on the way.

I kind of thought that is all i would have needed but wasnt too sure. Yeah i am Deffinately dumping the Baileys i hate them with a passion plus i know they are S**T. was looking around for a HKS ssqv or something along those lines

Now leads me a new question HKS / k&N does it matter at all which i purchase or does the HKS have better compatability with Evo or does it give better figures on paper.

if you only want 300bhp then keep everything as is and just get a remap.


fit a decat, fuel pump and remap will see at 350-360bhp (with standard airbox and decent panel filter)

Im liking those figures there up there /\/\/\

Im not just looking for 300 was just seeing what it would take to hit that figure.
well if i can get 350-360 as easy as that why not

Fuel pump what LPH is needed 255?:confused:

i think i allready have my first shopping list for my car shouldnt take that long to reach 350-360 target in the next month or so:cool:

a walbro 255 is what you need fuel pump wise, and possibly better off with a 3 port boost solenoid or aftermarket boost controller (electronic or manual).

as the evo 7 has better cams you will make another 20-30bhp over the tuned 260, but thats if you want to push it that hard as the 7 has weaker rods like the earlier evos.

the evo 260 has the same internals as later fq models so will handle the extra power safer.

i'm in the same boat as you mate,
currently got the induction kit, d/valve(which doesnt add bhp)
but looking to get a remap to see what it can be raised too,
going to go to wallace performance here in Aberdeen to get it done
dunno how much it will be though

aright wayne o i see you from aberdeen?

wallace performance are £90 a hour and they say it takes no longer than a 2-3 hours i was in the other week on the rolling road and he was telling me prices then bout a £180 he was saying!
one oh the lads on here spooners has hooked me up with a boy that does it down in perth maybe you would be intrested in that 2?
