My theory could be that the ring inside the effing wedge collar has fallen off and is in between the pressure plate and friction plate which would explain it not locking in??

Ok so a great update to reveal tonight, bit the bullet and me and my old took the box off yet again to see the wedge collar ring that should sit inside the pressure plate had falled out and was trapped in between the friction plate and pressure plate.

Manged to retreive it re-align the clutch, bolt the box back up and hey presto the release bearing engagaed, happy is an understatement :)

Hopefully bolt it back to together at the weekend.

Thanks for the advice guys.
