Right just abit of advice needed really, I used to use Castrol in my fiesta ST and it used to run lovely, but now I have my evo just wondering what people recommend? Completely standard engine and drivetrain and heard a few people mention millers oil, etc... Jus need a helping hand lol

Cheers all

Used Fuchs Silkolene 5W40 fully synthetic on both the S14a and EK4 civic, worked a treat :)

Just about to get My TME service and was about to ask this question.

Whats the best grade to use for a 30k ish engine. no mods.
Is 10-40 semi syn any good? I have no idea what the numbers are for..... I know it's how thick but still confuse me.

Oh I need to get this oil for wednesday so halfords or auto bits are my only choice. which one should I get?

Fully synthetic you should use pal best stuff really. The numbers refer to hot and cold thicknesses no thinner than 10w and no heavier than 40w people differ in opinion on the oils, some say 5-30 and some 10-40 either or really will do tbh

Millers or Fuchs fully syn. Grade depends on lvl of tune and time of year. Thinner oil for winter.
5 40!
10 40!

Whats the difference between 5-40 and 5-30?? I wanted to get some castrol 5-40 but I can only find castrol 5-30 in halfords online.

What are people's opinion on carlube and Granville oil? a friend of mine is selling these and said it's good oil

The 40 or 30 refers to how thin the oil will get in hotter temps, so with winter on its way either or will do

thanks for the info:)

I dont really drive the evo over the winter tho. do you think 30 is abit thin as a yearly oil? drive it a little over winter but often in the other seasons

I just stick to the one oil I don't do seasonal changes as the weather in this country doesn't justify it tbh

Check out opie oils... They will tell you what's best also if you register wit them you usually get between 10/20% off... Or pm oil man not sure if he's on here but he's on mlr...

Stage 2 ;) I learnt the other day that our gauging of stages is a little off, stage 1 is just filter and exhaust

I'd say a stage one was a fuel pump and map aswell:whistling::whistling::razz:

That's what I thought too, but found a tuning guide and it says fuel pump map boost controller is stage 2, 1 is like I say filter and exhaust
