Evening all, My name is Ben and I'm based in the North East (Newcastle)

I have just joined up as I am looking into the possibilty of starting my search for my first Evo and came accross this forum while searching online for info.

Mostly been into the Bmw world since starting out, my current one being an E46 M3 which will be sold on to make way for my next purchase.

This will be my 1st Jap car so I hope to pick up some knowledge and buying info from here over the next month or so before I make the move. I have decided on going for an Evo 9 as I just like the styling better than Evo 10.

I look forward to having a browse through threads and gathering info. No doubt most of the newbie question's have been answered many times so I'll check out the search function and what I can't find I will ask :)

Any tips or things to look for when buying will be much appreciated

Hello and welcome !

As usual with any performance car, good service history. Don't be put off by non Mitsi services as there are a lot of very good evo specialist out there now that if its one of the good ones the you'll probably get better and cheaper as these people work on them day in and day out.

Feel free to post up any links of cars for sale to get our opinion on it before you go and look :)

Cheers :)

Looking at going for an 8 or 9 at the moment, not yet settled on a budget but I won't be making the purchase for a month or two yet so budget could go up by then. also gives me a good amount of tme to get to know what the Evo's are about and a bit of info on them.

thanks :)

Yeah I thought as much, I will ideally be looking for a low mileage example. We have a local tuning place near me that specializes in Scooby's and Evo's so I will most probably use them for servicing ect..

If I come across any of interest online I will post them up to see what you guys think
