Leak from top of radiator

Hi all

I'm new to this forum and i got my first evo on Monday just gone. The evo i purchased was a evo9 on a 05 plate with alacantra seats. I went to view the vehicle on monday and fell in love straight away. So i bought it drove 60 miles home without a hitch and i must say the performance was unbelievable. I noticed on tuesday i noticed the smell of coolant after a short trip to the supermarket and put it down to new car new smells. Once i got back home i noticed that the water level was slightly low and the expansion bottle was empty, with no water on the floor but a tiny bit round the top of the rad. so topped it up with water took it for a short drive no more than 3 miles. turned it off and left for a while and checked it to which i found a small amount of drips of water on the floor.
So today i checked it out so i run it up with the cap off initially and the water started to reach the top of the cap as normal and with a little blip on the throttle it lowered ever so slightly. So put the cap on to pressurise the system and noticed the water was coming out from where the radiator is joined to the core to the plastic section and the top hose was warm and felt really hard and under pressure whilst the bottom hose was soft and cool. any time driving it before hand the temperature never went over half way and the fans would cut in and out as normal. Its got no gunk under the oil cap either.
So im ordering a new rad and thermostat. Has anyone else experienced this.
Im located in Croydon Surrey

Be careful of eBay ones. The build quality is rubbish and probably won't last

Go for a KOYO RAD not cheap but will outlast your life time an more efficient too :)
