strange noise ??

hey up all , i had a chap come and look at our car tonight and really thought it was gonna go and we went out for a test drive and he drove and said thats not right its sounds major the noise is that when u put ya foot down it feels like a knock and then u let off the gas and on again so every time u lay off the gas and then on it clunks any idea's ?? ive now lost the sale through it :-( its always been a noise there to me when we brought it so thought it was normal i guess not so now i need to see what the hell this noise is ?? it passed the mot like it and its been fine for a year so it cant be that bad can it ??

my m8 has just come round and said its rear bushes ??

defo from the rear of the car but nothing looks out of place or anything from looking

does it increase with road speed or engine speed or niether?

neither it only happens when u let off the gas then when u press it its a quick knock its like and engine mount gone but at the rear instead

mmm id be checking exhaust clearance on th body maybe? besides that hard to diagnose without hearing it

I would say its your rear bushes. Does it still handle and corner the same?

yes still handle's the same and corner is it hard to do the rear bushes ?? expensive?

No not hard and easy if on a lift. If it is your bushes get poly bushes to replace any that is wore and do both sides of the vehicle if replacing with poly bushes. You will know when you have your car lifted off the ground if its your bushes mate.

Hi mate
I had a similar issue , which turned out to be rear anti roll bar bushes/ anti roll bar! The paint where's off and then the anti roll bar is loose in the bush and gives u a knocking sound when you come on and off the gas or go over speed bumps and the like! Took me ages to find it!
