No mix of fluids .... Yet ... Anyone know the average cost of a head being done? I'm guessing close to 2k? *gulp*

Not sure what it would cost but strip and pressure test would be the first way to go..unless you know someone with an engine..

Shame it's not a few months down the line as just looking to buy a forged motor lol

Would be extremely lucky if the dipstick and the rad cap where shot...

What happened when tested with the thermostat out?

My dads changed the stick whist I'm away and it's still popping it out easy enough so that's one thing ruled out, thanks for suggesting that though guys I wouldn't have thought of that.

With the thermostat out I let it get up to temp before putting my foot down and the stick still popped out but I didn't notice any coolant come out but in the past it didn't do it after every drive but frequent enough for me to notice!

I spoke to a jap specialist and he wouldn't even pressure test it for me he just said - needs an engine rebuild and that's £3000. Don't know how he come up with that without looking at it or testing anything mind you!

Had the breather pipes checked and they are clean.
Totally puzzled as there's no unusual smoke coming out the back end, engine starts perfect and runs perfect, no mix of fluids still....

If the car comes back from the pressure test and they think it's the head then I don't think I can afford to fix it.

Do you guys have any idea what I could sell it for in it's current condition?
Or is it worth fixing for up to £2000 and selling it in perfect running order to some lucky ****er lol

I'd wait on the results of the pressure test first.
The guy just wants your money hence suggesting rebuild.
Worst case, if you need to rebuild, forge it :)
