get ur car on the rollers m8 to see if you have 360hp,as iv done a rs3 in my evo5 running stage one with 1.7bar peak boost and holds a good 1.5 bar and i had to do one car that was in front of me before i got to him and he was off as soon as he see's me pull out to over take...

As I have said I have owned both cars, my evo 8 is better in the bends but the pick up out of corners in the s3 was amazing the power comes in so early an pulls harder than the fq340 does. Yes mine was modded to stage 2 (350bhp)

If understeer is good then the s3 is brilliant!!!!

Oh and the rs3 and ttrs mapped with decat or sports cat make around 400/500 so stay clear if you don't have a beast

I'm at 1.5 bar at the moment it holds that aswell I'm going to get it mapped to 1.7 then get it on the rollers your right on the pick up out of corners I followed him round a round about and on the exit he was gone but I caught him up and went past him so I was a nice bit faster but I just can't believe 270bhp with nearly 1500kg can be so quick Must be the torque delivery. Don't wana be running into any mapped s3s or tts then until I'm over 400bhp fukin Germans lol

Different stable but same engine - Previous to my Evo I have a stage 1+ Seat Cupra K1 and can give you the following observations;

- The S3 is slightly better tuned 'off the shelf' at around 265bhp, the Cupra was 240bhp.
- With a remap from REVO (with no other modifications it makes night and day difference and pushes the car to 300bhp with just over 300+ lbft).
- They not as heavy as you think - although the Cupra is lighter than the S3 purely based on build quality.
- My Cupra was rubbish round the twisties and rubbish from stand-still, too much wheel spin even after fitting ALK.
- However, mid-gears and in a straight line this car was awesome and I suspect same would be said for the S3.
- I think the S3 has semi-4wd too

I still maintain my K1 driving alongside my EVO in 4th gear going 50-60 if they both dropped into 3rd and floored it the EVO would be dust!!

When I traded my K1 in it was running 320bhp. When I bought my IX it came with an old dyno suggesting its running 390bhp. I still maintain my EVO is no quicker, its just louder! lol

I suggest if you come across a Mk2 Cupra, K1 or S3 that looks modified your gonna get a run for your money and possibly be embarassed if they runing Stage 2 as they'll be up around 380 bhp (and thats on standard internals and turbo). Stage 3's are mental!

The only reason I changed was - 1) I've always wanted and EVO and 2) In my opinion alot of the power was unusable down low with front wheel drive at 320bhp so by doing a full exhuast system and another remap to take it to 370-380bhp would have been a waste

Hmmm really don't want to be embarrassed by Germans tbh that's why I went with jap as I thought they were unbeatable but clearly not lol more power needed indeed :)

weird as i smashed an rs3 in my 4 running just under 300 bhp! Tho it did start on a round about and i don't think he thought anyone could start and get round with out lifting ha ha evo can! :)

im sorry mate i dont belive that at all, i have an rs3 and the power is imense compared to my evo 6 its crazy we had a little test even with my skyline r34 gtr it had no chance lol, meaning the rs3 had no chance

Must have raced someone who either can't drive hard or is scared of the power. Either car tbh in the right hands is a tool

Its quite intresting the amount of power that is developed out of an Audi engine.

My friend has a 1.8T audi track car and that is running at 341Bhp, the fact that it weight about as much as a tin can means that it absoulety shifts.

See some video from a track day that he done, and he was outpacing pretty much everything on track including evo's and STI's.

The thing that gets me is the fact that hi audi, doesn't drink half the amount of fuel that an evo would

Interesting, one of my mates has a blue rs4 estate with around 420-440bhp, he wont be upfront with me exactly how much but its not stock for sure. When I race him im stuck on him and in fact start to actually gain on him higher up in the gears, mine is pushing 385 granted its more power than 360 but still. Could it possibly have been you were driving your car when the temp was soaring ?
