Hi Guys. Hoping to buy an Evo, need a lil help.

Hi everyone.

After owning several Imprezas and a Skyline ive decided that my next car is going to be an Evo.

My problem is that I dont really know what problems and other stuff i should be looking for when i view them.

Im going to look at a few Evo 4's the coming week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried using search but couldnt find a buyers guide as such.

Thanks for the link. Was very insightful reading that. Does the 4 have AYC or is it too old? Its a GSR if that helps.

Hopefully the ones i go to look at wont have overboost problems. One of my Subarus had that and it was a right pain to get sorted.

Luckily there is plenty for sale so the right one will be out there. Has to be Scotia White though! lol

And El, i would happily post up the links for the ads but they are in the local paper. Dont know if they are on the interwebs anywhere.

Another question though, Do the 4's have FMIC's as standard? Or are they wing mount etc. All the ones i seem to see have them. (saves me a job)

yeah the 4s do have the ayc they kicked it off with the 4
that is what ive got a evo 4 gsr had it bout 3 months now and i LOVE it

it will be out there!! i spent ages looking for my white 5 but eventually found it.

Ive always loved white Evo's. At this time I wont even look at another colour. Luckily white ones seem plentiful.

Just to let you know buddy, every Evo has an FMIC as standard, even the Evo I!!!

Little update on the Evo hunt. Saw one this evening. What a load of crap. Looked tatty. And the sneaky owner obviously warmed the car up before i went round because the bonnet was hot. Let it cool down for a while and it wouldnt start. Owner said, "Oh it doesn't like starting from cold"

"See ya"

Onto the next one...

You will no doubt get quiet a few of those. I suspect it is because you are looking at the ones that are priced towards the lower end of the bracket.

Who was it you went to see or where was it?

It would be helpful for those on the hunt to know so that they avoid these mingers and save time and money. Give some details that include what model it was and the colour as well as the area it was in.

Post them as you go along buddy, help to make life easier for every one else!
