Help! I'm rubbish at choosing wheels and I need either some new wheels or to refurb the stock ones - I'd also like some better tyres - what do people recommend?

Suggestions please for this car. I'd rather stick with 17s if possible and they must be at least as light as the standard wheels or lighter - it's all about the handling!

All suggestions gratefully received!

yes you are in desperate need of wheels.

Alas I couldn't convince the previous owner to sell the wheels he had on it with the car.

Evo 10 wheels look quite good but I would prefer less spokes. I've owned a few VWs in my time so I've spent enough time cleaning wheels - bloody BBS!

Mind you, the race weight erco spun aluminium drag wheels I had on my beetle were a bugger to clean and they were solid disks

In that case you want revolution 7's :)

Do a search on mlr for threads by me and search white evo 5/6 with aftermarket wheels :):)

Chaz83 on the mlr as got a set of gunmetal 8mr wheels shod with very good ADO8'S 4sale.

£500 PLUS £40 postage.
Would say they are about the best road tyre you can get, they are on my car at the moment and are far superior to the Hancook ventus rs 2 i took off.

LOL, check out the links Lee suggests. They are pretty cool and definitely not old mini wheels - that was my first thought however!

I checked on the MLR and the only Revolutions I could see mentioned were Millenniums.
If those are the ones then I had a set on my car. 18" though. A bloody heavy wheel that ruined my cars handling
I replaced them with 8MR wheels and the car was transformed :D

These ones-

So, I've finally taken the plunge and bought some wheels :)

Compmotive MOs - boring and unoriginal I know

At least now I'll have some decent tyres - the wheels on the car had autogrip f107 tyres - £50 each in evo size and absolutely lethal :whistling:
