Balance belt snapped

Sounds good how much would be looking at for fitting ie how many hours

that all depends on who you get to do it mate :O)

i did mine at the same time as i did my cam belt/acl big end and main bearings / arp rod bolts /hks crank scraper . ect

and as i used my own balance shaft i had to wait for it to be machined , about 3 day turn around but only £25 .


there are plenty of good tuners on here so am sure some one will offer a good rate :O)

My balancer shaft belt snapped on my old evo 5. The vibrations were VERY noticeable at anything over 2000 revs. I too was lucky that it didn't take anything out but it did take a nasty chunk out of the cam belt.

If it vibrates as bad as mine did without it then I'm all for keeping it.

there are 2 shafts that have to spin together if one spins without the other " eg belt snaps " than it will shake like s it :O(

but if you stop both spinning " remove the shafts " then only minimal vibration :O)

But surely if the belt snaps then they'll both stop spinning?

Can you tell I know sod all about engines

thats ok

as the crank turns one is driven by the cam belt via the rear of the oil pump and the other is still driven by the crank but has its own smaller belt , which can break :O(

so they are not directly connected :O) meaning they can also be set out of time which can give the same or worst bad vibration problem ..
