Insurance claim help

Hi guys and gals.

Bit of advice sought please..

Put a claim in yesterday (see my other thread on 'Raised Iron Works')

Anyhow, after some advice please, NEVER claimed in my life against an insurance policy..

I'd like to know what you would do...would you use an 'approved repairer' throught the insurance company OR would you, given the choice, use a repairer of YOUR choice, i.e a specialist Evo tuner etc etc?

Just you thoughts would be very much appreciated, as I'm worrying that some of these 'approved repairers' may have no clue.

So, what you thinking guys??

Unfortunately dude, if your claiming on insurance, it's at the discretion of insurer who you use. However, given the choice, I would have my tuner carry out any repairs

I think the insurance company usually determine who the 'approved' repairers are iirc.

I suggest you do however get quote from you local evo specialist and a full examination so you can dtermine what they think needs fixing is acyually correct too!

I would also use your legal advice too which is possibly part of your cover and persue the idea of sueing council for not putting up signs.

I think also they will send an insurance advisor to decide if repair bill is more than cost of vehicle and can classify them as write offs. This is where insurance can suck paricularly if you have an older EVO as it doesnt take into account all the money spent.

All Insurers will try and get you to use a garage they are affiliated with, BUT the above from chaz is not correct YOU PAY THE INSURER SO IT IS YOUR CHOICE who you use....just stick to your guns ...I had a load of stones fall off a lorry and hit my car a few years ago, i claimed on the lorry companies insurance and I told there insurance who I wanted to do the work ...same applies for your insurer buddy
