Slow to reach peak boost

According to the boost gauge on my impreza the boost flys up to .5 bar but the takes ages to build up the rest of the boost and sometimes I doesn't go past .5 for sometime heres a video I think it's weird

possibly the gauge a bit faulty, does it actually feel like the boost changes or does it always drive the same
