Hi Guys.
We keep a large range of MOCAL Oil coolers in stock to enable you to make up a cooling solution to suit your needs.
The cooler consists of a variable number of aluminium pressed plates forming oil ways and end tanks, the oil ways contain turbulators. These do not only break down boundary layer effects in the flow to obtain maximum heat dissipation without undue pressure drop but also, because they are brazed to both surfaces of the plates, hold them together under pressure. The oil ways are interspersed with aluminium strip louvered and formed into corrugations to provide airways.
They use an "industry standard" frame, meaning you can swap to Mocal from Setrab etc.

Heavy Duty versions of the above are also available for higher pressures than 150psi and up to 12bar (180psi)working pressure. This version of the cooler is dimensionally similar but has aluminium castings between the plates. On the standard cooler this is the weakest point where they are unsupported by fins or turbolaters. There is also thicker material in some areas. These coolers are about 18% heavier.
We wouldn't recommend anything smaller than a 16 Row 235mm core for engine oil.
We can supply them with -6, -8, -10, -12 and -16 male fittings.
