wiper problem

hey guys and girls my e4 is fighting me again the wipers are playing up they wont turn of ive changed the stalk and no joy any ideas???????????

In the boot were u fill the water bottle up, on the side of it is a pump it's that that's nackered I had the same problem

what your wipers would stop going because of your washer motor in the washer bottle under the bonnet???

Not common but the pump is the prob, a tad random but hey that's evos

right so the washer motor is the the cause of washers not working and also why my wipers just keep going even you dont touch the wiper stalk ?????? im confused

No the water pump for the spray is the cause o the fault. You need a new pump

Correct I had the same problem my wipers wouldn't turn of so I bought a new stalk (on steering colome) and still wouldn't turn off so I started pulling all my wiring loom out got my circuit tester to work the fault was in the boot, the wiper washer pump, as soon as I put a new one on the front wipers turned off and worked perfect

no theyre not. Its in the boot.

right it would seem i am right about both motors being in the washer bottle under the o/s inner arch lining so my question is what the hell is causing my wipers to work all the time with out touching the controls???????/

evo 5 has a washer pump in the front of the car, its the same bottle as the intercooler spray.

i know mark is right with what his problem was as i helped diagnose it and i suspect yours is the same issue. for some reason a faulty pump can cause the wipers to stay on

solved as i thought no washer in the boot motor knackered so new one needed

Correct me if an wrong if a motor was nackered the motor wouldn't work so the wipers wouldn't be working

the motor has gone open circuit on the front wash thus making the wipers go constantly when operate the front wash wipe the circuit thinks you trying to wash the screen constantly

Short on the front washer side of the pump which also does the rear screen (reversed polarity) which happens to be in the washer bottle at the front of the car! Bloody took ages to find that after being told that its in the f**king boot!! Sorry was i a little outspoken?? Lmao.

Mines in the boot I thought all Evo 4 5 6 were made the same obviously not lol
