Hi all I am looking at getting my e5 gsr to 400bhp, I have got most of the parts needed but I was wondering would I have to change the pistons and rods or just the rods to run 400bhp safely, also what sort of power would a td05h 16g10.5t be capable of
Any Info would be helpful

Rod job would be vital

Crazy as it may sound it could be worth sourcing an 8 engine or bottom end as they can cope with 400/400 easily. You could sell your engine to recoup some of the cost.

This is the line I want to take with mine eventually, mine is standard internals running 370-380. Seems to be holding well right now, had the map toned down a bit by Si@NTS since the nurburgring last year car was hitting 1.8bar in 2nd  Si didn't believe it till he saw it

Not sure on the turbo though so hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will be along to help.

Is this a standard turbo or uprated mate. It looks like a standard V GSR turbo.

You can't use Evo 5 pistons for a rod job later pistons are needed.

As said above look for a later 8 engine, by the time you have done messing about the cost will be around the same.
